Choices…
If a cure never comes, then what will become of the young, of the old, the dads and the moms? Do we accept, do we mourn, do we continue to fight? Will moms forever lay awake through the long sleepless nights?
Will the cure come at a price that some just can’t accept? Will their morals and beliefs block that one giant step? Can they ignore such an option that could save so many lives? Explain this to a mom as her ‘D’ baby cries.
As research advances further than anyone could suspect, will you fight for this option; one that so many reject? Will your choice of today have been your choice long ago? Has diabetes opened you eyes, changed your heart, tested your soul?
It takes courage to make a stand in the midst of this fight, it will push us to the boundaries of which some may not like. But what else can we do, what else can we say? It’s a question we keep asking, day after day.
When it’s all said and done and we all have to choose, in the end it is certain, some will win, some will loose. I hope they can sleep at the end of the day, hopefully diabetes will never come their way.
